Amphibian Boat & Birdwatching Tour
On this family-friendly combo tour, you will be able to experience the wonders of Vatnajökull region. Vatnajökull region is the perfect place to experience unspoiled nature and a unique environment. We will take an Amphibian Boat tour amongst the icebergs and seals on the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and visit the puffins and other birds with the locals at Ingólfshöfði cape.
Puffin & Birdwatching Tour
Cape Ingólfshöfði, the historical nature reserve, is home of thousands of nesting seabirds, like puffins and great skuas. Located between Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.
To get to Ingólfshöfði we cross 7 km of waters, marshes, and sands in a tractor-drawn hay cart. The drive takes about 30 minutes each way, and then we spend about 1 1/2 hour hiking around the cape. The tractor driver from the nearby farm becomes the tour guide, tells stories and explains the birdlife, and leads the guests safely through the nesting grounds on the cape.
The circle we hike around the nature reserve is 2-3 km long. Mostly on flat grassland but the beginning is a bit steep. We don’t recommend that people participate in this trip unless they can do this hike. When booking the tour with young children we recommend bringing a Baby Carrier.

Amphibian Boat Tour
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is located by highway number one, about 370 km (230 miles) east of Reykjavík and it is told to be one of the greatest natural wonders in Iceland. Embark on a boat trip on the beautiful Glacier Lagoon in amphibian boat.
During the excursion, you sail among the huge icebergs in the picturesque scenery of Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. On the boat you get to taste the 1000 year old ice and if you are lucky you might even see some seals swimming amongst the beautiful icebergs. The excursion takes 30–40 minutes and includes an English speaking guide who explains to you the geology and facts of the lagoon.
Other languages might be offered upon request.
