Glacier Unique: Kayaking and Glacier Walk

EXPERIENCE THE GLACIER DREAM

This amazing and unique combo glacier tour offers you glacier hike on Vatnajökull Glacier and Kayak Tour on Heinabergslón lagoon. This tour is in two separate locations, self-drive in between locations.

When you book this combo tour, you start with the 09.00 Kayak Tour from Ice Guides meeting point in Flatey, after kayaking you have around 1 hour to get to the next tour, which is the 14.00 o’clock Glacier Walk with Glacier Adventure.

Glacier Walk

When you join Glacier Adventure for a Glacier Walk you will get a personal experience from a local guide. You experience the wonders of Vatnajökull glacier and it‘s uniqueness while being away from the crowds.

Our guide takes you on an unforgettable journey on Breiðamerkurjökull, one of Vatnajökull biggest outlet glaciers. The trip starts at Hali where our meeting point is. From there the guide drives you to the glacier area, off the beaten path where you can breathe in the fresh Icelandic air.

The tour can take between 3,5 and 4 hours (1 – 1,5 hours on the glacier), including drive back and forth from our meeting point. This tour is rated easy and can be done by most children and adults.

Minimum age is 14 years old

Heinabergslón Kayaking*

Glacier kayaking is the ultimate way to experience the magnificence of the world famous Vatnajökull National Park. Join us in an unforgettable trip and enjoy unbeatable panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers and their reflection in the mirror like water of the Heinaberg Lagoon. From the lagoon you will have an excellent view over Vatnajokull and on the tour we step on one of the icebergs and take a short walk, overlooking the lagoon and surrounding area – safely equipped with the appropriate glacier gear. Heinabergslón is “out of the beaten path”, so there is no other traffic on the water. This is the tour for those who want to be environmentally friendly while exploring nature.

The trip is fully guided by guides with a vast knowledge of the area, its history, hidden spots – and of course kayaking. The Glacier Kayak Adventure suits people with no paddling experience to experienced paddlers. Our Kayaks are SIT-ON-TOP boats, very stable and should be suitable for first time kayakers as well.

Notice that the tour includes physical activity and therefore a reasonable fitness is required.

*Here you are booking Tandem Kayak (boat for two people)

All of the tours are led by local and professional guides to give you a safe and unforgettable experience in the breathtaking Vatnajökull nature.
