Glacier Adventure Summer Tour

You might have come to realize that Iceland is one of those countries where there are plenty of things to see and do. It’s sometimes hard to plan ahead and work out what you’re going to do next.

We are sure that you won’t want to miss out on your time here, but don’t worry we are here to help. Not only on the glacier but also with your whole Iceland trip.

Here are a few ideas on how you can make the most of your time when booking your Glacier Walk tour. A mixture of a few things you can do both before and after your time with Glacier Adventure.

What to do before your tour?

If you book on our 9.00 is a tour, we recommend that you stay close to the meeting point the night before. This means you can take advantage of the beautiful scenery late at night and early in the morning.

Öræfajökull and Fellsfjall

Even if you’re on the 14:00 pm tour. It’s still worth staying close to ensure you have a relaxed start to the day.

Ten minutes driving to the west from Hali brings you Jokulsarlon and adjacent Diamond Beach, two jewels in the crown of Southeast Iceland. Both are stunning at any time of day, but enjoying a tranquil sunrise here with the North Atlantic ocean to your south and a vast icecap to your north is an experience not to be missed.

Black sand beach – Diamond beach

Across the road from ‘Diamond Beach’ is the famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Again, this is quieter earlier in the morning and late at night so you can sometimes have this stunning scenery all to yourself.

Re-energize at Hali Country Hotel’s restaurant

Hali Country Hotel is not just a hotel. They have a small restaurant serving meals, hot and cold drinks plus cakes. So feel free to pop in to enjoy a (soft!) drink before your tour.

Afterward, you might even be tempted to try out their ‘Day Menu’ or ‘Evening Menu’ depending on when your tour finishes. We are sure you’ll have worked up an appetite after your walk on the glacier.

Visit Þórbergssetur museum and cultural center

Now that you’ve gained some newfound energy, be sure to visit Þórbergssetur and read about one of Iceland’s most famous authors from the 20th century.
