About the hostel
Skyrhúsið hostel is located in the heart of Vatnajökull National park region. It’s located next to Glacier Adventure base camp, where your ice cave tour in the winter or glacier walking tour in the summer starts. This location will allow you to have access to some of the most iconic sceneries in Iceland, such as Diamond beach, Jökulsárlón, Skaftafell and Vestrahorn. You can easily stay with us for a week and explore the stunning area in slow travel mode and enjoy the best landscape Iceland can offer. The Hostel offers a tidy and homey environment, with shared bathroom facility and kitchen for simple cooking, free WI-FI and free parking. The rooms are available as double, triple or quadruple all with shared bathroom and showers.
Standard rate:
- The guest can cancel free of charge until 3 days before arrival.
- The guest will be charged a prepayment of the total amount of 3 days before arrival.
- After payment has been done the reservation is Non- Refundable.
- In case of a no-show or late cancellation total amount will be charged.
- No exceptions are made for unforeseen circumstances.

Great location
Located only 10 minutes from Jökulsárlón glacier and with many other major attractions within short driving distance, Skyrhúsið makes an excellent base for exploring South Iceland.

Clean and comfortable
Homely, clean rooms with stunning views. Wifi throughout the property and an on-site restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. Skyrhúsið provides a comfortable base for anyone travelling South Iceland.

Great place and nearby attractions
We got the room in the 2nd floor. It’s small but it still can put the 2 luggages size 25” and one small luggage. This floor has 2 bathrooms included the toilet. All common space, share-kitchen and share-bathroom are well maintained and super clean. They provided the complimentary juice, milk, tea and coffee in the kitchen. They provided the Icelandic Happy Marriage cake in the evening. The taste was good for us. The best thing was the location of guesthouse is near the spot of Jökulsárlón Glacier and nearby attractions. Overall we were ver satisfied. I would return to stay here if I have a chance.
A cozy night at Skyhusid Guest House
We stayed here the night before our Glacier and Hike tour. The host was very welcoming and kind, our room was basic but had everything we needed. The shared bathrooms were very clean and the shared kitchen had everything you needed (including tea, coffee, juice, and even some DELICIOUS homemade happy marriage cake). Would definitely stay here again.
